Michael Ferber is a registered Architect in British Columbia with a Master of Architecture from the University of Manitoba (2007).
Since 2014, he has been a dedicated code consultant, bringing extensive expertise in the interpretation and application of the British Columbia Building and Fire Codes, the Vancouver Building Bylaw, and the National Building Code of Canada across jurisdictions throughout BC.
Michael is a member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and stays at the forefront of fire protection advancements, building code research, and industry best practices. He regularly integrates NFPA standards, codes, and the International Building Code (IBC) into compliance solutions, providing a broader perspective on projects. He has presented educational seminars for the Society of Fire Protection Engineers of BC (SFPE-BC) and the Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC) on topics including CAN/ULC S1001 requirements, passive fire protection, and fire alarm testing.
In May 2019, Michael successfully completed the Certified Professional (CP) course administered by Engineers and Geoscientists BC and the Architectural Institute of British Columbia. As a CP, he is recognized as an expert in Part 3 and the administrative provisions of the BC Building Code and Vancouver Building Bylaw. He actively participates in national committees on CAN/ULC S1001 revisions and is a member of the CP advisory group, helping to regulate interactions between Certified Professionals and Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
